Adashima Haru was born into wealth and privilege living in a grand estate in Kyoto with servants attending to his every whim. On the surface his life seems enviable but behind closed doors it’s anything but.
His mother is cold and intimidate enforcing strict control over his life. She insists he dress and act like a woman scolding him whenever he fails to meet her expectations. Trapped in this strangulate existence Haru’s days blend into monotony until a chance encounter changes everything.
During a rare outing he crosses paths with Kishou a roguish thief who quickly realizes Haru isn’t the noblewoman he appears to be. Seeing an opportunity Kishou sneaks into Haru’s home under cover of darkness intending to blackmail him but instead he unwittingly binds their fates together.
That night they are given an impossible mission to journey across Japan hunting monstrous creatures to break an ancient curse that has haunted Haru’s family for centuries. With no choice but to rely on each other the reluctant pair sets off one a sheltered aristocrat the other a street smart rogue on a quest that will test their limits and forge an unexpected bond.
